Arbaein, meaning “forty”, marks the completion of forty days of mourning for Imam Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad, who was martyred in the Battle of Karbala.Pilgrims from Iraq and around the world will once again walk long distances to Karbala, honoring Hussein’s timeless stand for justice and truth. The event is marked by processions, prayers, and acts of generosity as volunteers provide food and water to all travelers along the way.
